Trademaid and the Environment

Policy

Trademaid acknowledges and recognises that its business and operations have an impact on the global and local environment and is committed to continuous environmental improvement wherever possible.

It will comply with all national environmental legislation and strives where practicable to improve upon statutory requirements.

As distributors, the Company does not affect how the products it buys and distributes are manufactured but it will try to make sure it purchases products which have been manufactured by companies that demonstrate environmentally sound methods and policies. The Company aims to store and distribute products in the most environmentally friendly manner.

It is the policy of Trademaid to:

  • Carry out an audit of all new suppliers to ensure that their products are produced in compliance with all environmental legislation.
  • Purchase goods and procure services which, as far as possible, reflect up-to-date specifications or standards for environmental sustainability.
  • Promote a culture of environmental responsibility throughout the Company by keeping employees informed of relevant environmental issues and initiatives through training, education and encouraging active involvement at all levels.
  • Recycle all office and warehouse waste of various types where possible.
  • Use EDI methods for invoicing and communication where possible to reduce paper consumption.
  • Take all reasonable steps to reduce energy consumption within the Company by having a fully insulated warehouse, switching off lights and using energy efficient light fittings where appropriate.
  • Make every effort to reduce energy consumption in our distribution methods by purchasing vehicles with the most up to date energy management systems.
  • Working with our customers to reduce delivery frequencies.
  • Working with our suppliers to minimise deliveries from them and where possible, to use our fleet to backhaul product into our operation.
